Bettys and Taylors Group (BTG) contacted us to upgrade the look and feel of the company’s premises as part of the reintegration back into the work space after COVID.
Keen to update the BTG colour scheme, the team asked us to refresh the finishes throughout the offices, amenity and communal spaces. The previous colour scheme was beginning to look tired; it also didn’t stand out as much as it could.
BTG felt that by refreshing the building’s aesthetic, staff would be encouraged to work from the premises post-Covid. Working with our appointed architect, Enjoy Design, we replaced all floor finishes and decorated multiple buildings across the site.
The biggest challenge was working across multiple areas of the site, while all the buildings remained live throughout our works; the canteen, communal and toilets are in use 24/7, due to production running continuously. As we replaced all flooring to communal spaces, such as staircases and corridors, close communication was needed between our own site manager and our client’s project manager.
We ensured staircases and corridors were out of action, while alternative fire escape routes were made available and accessible.
The BTG team chose complex flooring patterns; corridors and perimeters of rooms featured a border, which needed to line through and gradually fade into the wider floor (rather than a clean cut off point). While this proved time-consuming to install, the finished look was extremely effective.
The project was very well received by the client and the staff, with the buildings appearing much more vibrant and inviting.
